Reimagining Past techniques in Modern Ceramics

Im most interested in the idea to reuse and completely reimagine the techniques discovered in past ceramics into my more modern and contemporary forms. I aim for bowls that flare out more and stand rigidly on well defined feet like the ones showed on the left image. In addition to that, like the left image, i wish to find interesting ways to rework old techniques like how both images use lustre work in order to decorate them. I also love the way dabbling in old techniques allows me to delve in the mindset of ancient artists and learn how and why they worked this way while engaged in the action myself. For example, the image on the right displays how the islamic period banned the use of precious metals for dinnerware but allowed artists find a way to give the glamour of metals without really wasting them.
